I'm traveling through New Zealand for 3 months alone. I'll be on both the North Island, and South Island. And plan to post here when I can.

Busking Around Wellington

So, last you heard from me I was in Napier. I spent a day there and it was sort of a boring town. It was all Art Deco architecture and felt like being in the US in the 1930's, but other than that not much to it. So I hitched down to Wellington. It took about 5 hours to get there. I got to Wellington and now have met up with Zach. Zach has been in Wellington for a few weeks now and he's living with a few really nice guys in a part of Wellington called New Town. I've been sleeping at their home, and at their neighbours house, Katik. He's an Indian man who plays a lot of piano. One of the guys, Robin, has been cooking Zach and I plenty of good food. Everyone here seems like a crazy character from some movie. Wellington in general is really a great city. It's super artsy and reminds me portland. It's full of musicians and artists and graffiti all over in a style similar to Banksy. Everyone dresses as if they were from Lookbook. Zach and I have been hanging out with a few musicians in their flat jamming for hours every day. Last night Zach, a guy named Josh, and myself went busking on the street. It was unbelievably fun. Josh was on guitar, Zach was rocking out on Melodica, and I was drumming on the walls and posts with drum sticks and a few hand drums. It was sort of demented gypsy funk music with some upbeat jewish bat mitzvah breakdowns. We had so much energy and everyone loved it. We had people dancing around us, and broke 3 guitar strings, and a drum stick. We played from 11:30pm - 4:30am nonstop. We made over a hundred dollars and split it 3 ways.
So Zach and I are still in Wellington for a day or two longer. Then we are off to the South Island.

Noah, Signing off!
